Dr. Neal McGrath wins Journal of Athletic Training’s 2011 Clint Thompson Award

CIC Dr. Neal McGrath of Sports Concussion New England (first CIC in New England) received the Journal of Athletic Training’s 2011 Clint Thompson Award for Clinical Advancement at the NATA annual meeting in New Orleans June 20 for his paper “Supporting the Student-Athlete’s Return to the Classroom After a Sport-Related Concussion.” This paper discusses the use of ImPACT in school settings within a comprehensive model that includes concussion education, baseline testing and post-injury clinical evaluation using ImPACT, academic accommodations, and development of clear return-to-play policy guidelines. Click here to view the paper.
