Dr. James S. Gyurke joins ImPACT Applications

ImPACT Applications, Inc., developers of ImPACT® (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing), announced that Dr. James S. Gyurke has been named chief marketing and sales officer.

In his new position, Gyurke will oversee all sales and marketing functions for ImPACT Applications, Inc., including developing all sales and marketing strategies and initiatives, performance targets, managing distribution channel relationships and ensuring consistency in all brand messaging and customer facing activities. Prior to joining ImPACT, Gyurke was vice president of sales and marketing for PAR, Inc. (Psychological Assessment Resources), a leading a publisher of psychological assessment instruments, software and other related materials.

His extensive background, which has included working in partnership with ImPACT and his unique credentials bring a wealth of relevant experience that will be an important factor in the growth of ImPACT Applications, Inc.”

Before joining PAR, Inc., Gyurke made significant contributions through several positions with The Psychological Corporation, where he was a national clinical consultant in Behavioral Healthcare Sales and provided provide technical and product support to key accounts in the school and clinical marketplace.  Earlier in his career, Gyurke managed test product development activities and teams and set priorities necessary to meet the corporate publishing plan.

Gyurke’s additional experience includes serving as an adjunct professor in the Department of Education at Trinity University, and as a developmental psychologist with Polyclinic Medical Center. His research work has been published in 15 peer reviewed scientific journals and he has made over 200 presentations at state, regional and national scientific meetings. He has served in advisory, technical and review roles for almost 20 different industry-related boards and professional journals and has received numerous grants and honors throughout his career.

A native of Western Pennsylvania, Gyurke’s education background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Vincent College, and Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago and a Doctor of Philosophy in Developmental Psychology from Loyola University of Chicago.

Gyurke currently resides in Tampa, Florida and is a member of the National Association of School Psychologists, the American Psychological Association and the Florida Association of School Psychologists.
