Dr. Reiman is a board certified sports medicine physician who is in charge of the concussion program for professional motocross and supercross. The main challenge he faced was that riders are located all across the globe and are never in the same place for long as they’re constantly traveling for races.

Baseline Testing From Anywhere in the World

Dr. Reiman has addressed the issue of wide geographic distribution by utilizing FDA-cleared, at-home ImPACT baseline testing. He’s able to easily assign baseline tests to riders anywhere in the world and the test results are then all included in his database.

“I like the fact that I can see which athletes have completed their remote ImPACT baseline test within the Customer Center. This visibility helps hold riders accountable and make sure they’re following concussion protocol requirements.”

Dr. Reiman had an initial concern that remote testing would result in less accountability and potentially less valid scores, however, he has seen that as long as test takers are properly educated about the importance of the test and they trust that it’s in their best interest, they will put in their best effort regardless of how the test is administered.

Utilizing ImPACT Applications’ Global Network of Trained Providers for Concussion Treatment

For ImPACT post-injury testing and follow up concussion treatment, Dr. Reiman takes advantage of the global network of trained concussion care providers that use ImPACT. This lets him refer athletes to a local care provider who can supervise the mandated return to ride protocol so an athlete can get immediate care no matter where they are geographically.
