Democratic and Chronicle
WASHINGTON — Coach Mike Monacelli of Caledonia-Mumford Central High School received accolades Thursday from members of Congress and medical experts for his leadership in dealing with brain injuries caused by concussions.
The kudos came at a Thursday hearing by the House Education and Labor Committee that looked at sports-related concussions among high school students.
“I think coach Monacelli is unique and a model for all of us to look at,” said James Schmutz, executive director of the American Sports Education Program.

I love [ImPACT], I consider it a functional evaluation of the brain. By using the computer lab at the school, I am able to run 20 athletes at a time. I believe ImPACT will soon be the gold standard in return to play.
