The Emory Sports Medicine Center (ESMC) is a global leader in providing advanced treatments for patients with sports and orthopaedic injuries. Emory Sports Medicine Center patients range from professional athletes and world leaders to those who enjoy active lifestyles and want to ensure the best possible recovery from injuries.
There are seven fellowship trained sports medicine specialists at ESMC, four of which are primary care sports medicine. Dr. Mautner, Mines, Webb, and Mason all have specialty training in the non-surgical care of athletes, including sport- related concussions to ensure a safe return to play.

Community Work and Involvement

Dr. Mautner and the other physicians at Emory Sports Medicine Center are known for their leading edge treatment of sport- related concussions. In addition to the daily management of sports concussions in our clinic, Dr. Mautner has spoken both regionally and nationally on the topic of sports concussions. Emory Sports Medicine has also held local symposiums on the current management of sports concusisions to update the community of Athletic Trainers and Physicians in this ever-evolving field. Our mission is that through education and better management of this epidemic, we can have more sucessful outcomes and prevent cumulative effects and long term damage from sports concussions.

ImPACT History:

Emory Sports Medice Center has been using ImPACT for four years. Our physicians have specialty training in the administration and interpretation of ImPACT. Currently, we manage sport- related concussions for 10 local high schools and 6 local colleges in addition to consultations for other professional, elite, collegiate and grade school athletes who suffer concussions.
